Our studio is a mixture of characters and styles. We also believe that we’ve built our reputation through allowing the people in the business to be themselves and express themselves creatively. This freedom brings enjoyment – and enjoyment is the foundation of a strong team.
Small but perfectly formed, we’re immensely proud of our team here at BEARD, all of whom provide a great blend of skills and experience to our clients. If you’re interested in working with us then feel free to drop us an email to [email protected]
And no, you don’t need a beard to work here… although it doesn’t do any harm.
Originally from oop norf, Rob’s working path has taken him through various agencies around the country before doing his own thing in 2009 and subsequently founding Beard in 2011. Balancing client meetings with branding and digital work, Rob loves getting stuck into a new project. When not working, Rob can be found struggling up a hill on his bike or keeping his coffee high topped up.
Trained at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoons (in essence the Disney and Marvel training academy) and a wealth of experience behind him, Dave is the creative lead on the majority of projects in the studio. An incredible talent with pencil in hand, a skater at heart with knees that tell him otherwise, Dave is rarely found without his baseball cap and humming something Morrissey-esque.
Ben joined Beard in 2012 and has rapidly progressed in the business. Slightly stubbly when he joined, he’s now the beardiest person in the team – and just happens to be a great designer, artworker and animator too. Ben tries to block out Dave’s renditions of Morrissey songs with well timed bursts of Metallica. He’s also fanatical about tennis. Completely obsessed.
Jackie is the absolute workhorse of the group. Having worked as a freelancer for a number of years (in studio with us on the occasion as well!), Jackie’s experience and skill set has helped ease the pressure on everyone exponentially since she joined the team earlier this year.
Stu is the guy that makes things tick. In charge of the accounts and finance of the business, he is constantly making sure our time is being tracked and our invoices are out on time. Stu also happens to be very handy with all things DIY, so may well be leading from the front with the planned studio expansion!
