Rebranding an English classic

Established in 1971, Astley Vineyard is one of the oldest vineyards in the UK, producing quality wine close to the River Severn in Worcestershire. The business was recently taken on by new owners, who were looking to reinvigorate the Astley brand and firmly place it as a leading UK wine producer. WeAreBeard were appointed to rebuild the branding and product artwork from the ground up.

Their new identity consists of a stylish and minimal icon with classic typography that clearly represents the brand and the nature of their industry. Alongside this identity, a bold new illustrative style was created for Astley’s core range of wines. These illustrations were intended to reference the glorious wildlife and, in particular, the variety of birds that can be found at the vineyard.


From the very first moment, we could tell they were good listeners and were keen to understand the details of our story. The WeAreBeard team were responsive, enthusiastic, and shared many of the values we have as a business.
